BHECO Homecare (Building Hope for the Elderly Community Organization) is not merely an organization; it is a profound response to a deeply personal and widespread challenge. Our founder, Franklin Kirimi Mwathi, witnessed firsthand the quiet struggles and profound neglect faced by his late grandmother and countless other elderly persons in rural Kenya. This lived reality ignited a powerful conviction: that every elder deserves to live their golden years with dignity, security, and compassionate care, not in isolation or abandonment.
Born from this authentic inspiration, BHECO Homecare emerged as grassroots, community-based initiative rooted in the heart of Tharaka Nithi County, Kenya – a remote and underserved region where the need is most acute. We understand the local context intimately, allowing us to build solutions that are truly relevant and impactful.
What sets BHECO Homecare apart is our deeply embedded, community-led model. We are not external providers; we are part of the fabric of Marimanti Ward. Our approach is characterized by:
Authentic Local Roots: Our team and volunteers are drawn directly from the community, fostering trust and cultural understanding.
Holistic Well-being: We address not just physical health, but also mental, emotional, and social needs, ensuring a comprehensive approach to care.
Intergenerational Harmony: We actively promote connections between elders and youth, recognizing the invaluable traditional knowledge and wisdom elders hold, and empowering youth to become the next generation of caregivers and community stewards. This synergy enriches both generations and strengthens the entire community.
Transparency and Accountability: Our governance and operational mechanisms are designed to ensure direct community consultation and transparent use of resources.

“Keeping Our Elders Warm, Fed, and Loved.”
To provide holistic care, dignity, and security to vulnerable elderly populations. We reach out to those who have been abandoned, are living alone, or lack access to essential basic needs, healthcare and family assistance. Our commitment extends beyond basic provision.
“Caring for Elders, Honoring Heroes.”
BHECO Homecare is poised for significant growth. We are actively working towards establishing a dedicated elderly residence that will serve as a model for dignified senior care in rural settings. This initiative will not only provide immediate relief but also build a sustainable framework for long-term community well-being.
Nourishing bodies, protecting with warmth and safeguarding health

"Planting Roots of Care and Sustainability."
BHECO Homecare has successfully secured **3 acres of land**, generously donated by our Founder & Chairman, **Mr. Franklin Mwathi**. Out of this, **2 acres will host the Elderly Home Care Centre**, while **1 acre will be dedicated to an organic farm** to ensure food sustainability for our residents.
This land marks the foundation of our **ultimate goal – creating a safe, dignified, and sustainable home for the elderly** in Tharaka Nithi County.
**A dream turning into reality, one step at a time. ❤️**
